Patients who have long worn dentures are delighted to learn that dentures can now be secured to dental implants.
The popular term for one of these dentures is “All-on-4,” meaning that four implants anchor an upper or lower denture. Based on long experience, Dr. Haddad chooses to place five implants (or more) to support a denture for greater strength and security.
With this process, once the dental implants are placed, the patient gets set of transitional dentures immediately so they can eat while the bone in the jaw heals. When healing is complete, a final set of dentures is permanently attached to the top of the implants. They can be removed for cleaning or repair at a dentist’s office. They are not removable by the patient.
